A Message from the State Attorney

Dear Friend,

As students across Miami Dade return to school, I want to extend my heartfelt wishes for a safe, productive, and inspiring year ahead. Back to school season always reinforces why our work matters—protecting children, supporting families, and working closely with educators and community partners to ensure every child has the opportunity to learn and thrive in a safe environment. Our office remains steadfast in that commitment.
This month, we also welcomed our August 2026 Class of Assistant State Attorneys, an outstanding group of new prosecutors who have already begun their intensive training. Their enthusiasm, talent, and passion for public service bring renewed energy to our office. Watching them join our SAO family reminds me how fortunate we are to attract such exceptional individuals who are ready to carry forward our mission of seeking justice and protecting our community.

While we made the announcement last month, I want to take a moment to once again acknowledge the salary increases and cost area differential (CAD) that went into effect on July 1st, 2026. I cannot emphasize enough how meaningful this has been for our office. These raises reflect our ongoing commitment to supporting the dedicated professionals who serve this community with integrity, compassion, and excellence every single day. I am deeply grateful for the continued hard work and the pride they bring to the Miami Dade State Attorney’s Office.

I also want to thank all of you for supporting the work that we do and helping us keep our beloved community safe and a vibrant place to live.

Thank you and God Bless,

Sincerely,

State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle Swears-in Ambassador Daniel Perez
