Workers’ Compensation

State Attorney Katherine Fernandez firmly believes all employees injured while working deserve the resources necessary to rehabilitate them back to productive lives. Thus, the State Attorney uses legal action to prosecute offenders who would compromise the rehabilitation of workers. The team manages all aspects of investigations and prosecutions of workers’ compensation cases.

The team responds to the following:

• Cases where employers fail to obtain workers’ compensation insurance;
• Cases where employers do not secure adequate coverage for workers; and
• Cases where employees have filed fraudulent workers’ compensation claims due to false or exaggerated injuries
