Insurance Fraud and Workers’ Compensation Unit

State Attorney Fernandez Rundle’s highly acclaimed Insurance Fraud & Workers’ Compensation Unit (IFWC) investigates and prosecutes insurance and Workers’ Compensation fraud.   The unit is staffed with a team of passionate ASAs, sworn investigators, and paralegals dedicated to protecting our community and prosecuting criminals who commit the following crimes:

• Fraudulent insurance claims due to false or exaggerated injuries
• Misappropriation of funds by insurance agents
• Arson with the intent to file a fraudulent insurance claim
• Organized schemes to defraud insurers
• Fraudulent claims submitted to carriers/insurers
• Circumstances where employers fail to obtain or secure adequate Workers’ Compensation insurance coverage

Miami SAO’s IFWC Unit works closely with detectives from the Florida Department of Financial Services Bureau of Insurance Fraud on various investigations.
