Legal Assistant II – Arraignment Assistant

Position Overview:

This position is responsible for providing support Assistant State Attorneys in the Misdemeanor Unit and ensuring that all files are completed and ready for the Attorneys to review and make a filing decision prior to the arraignment. The work schedule for this position is: 8:00 a.m. to
4:30 p.m. or 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position offers a Limited Flexible Work Schedule and Teleworking Option.

 

The Job Responsibilities are:

  • Preparing domestic violence cases for upcoming arraignment hearings
  • Identifying witnesses for Discovery
  • Preparing the discovery package
  • Updating witnesses and evidence in HYDRA
  • Ordering all reports and evidence
  • Setting pre-file conference appointments
  • Preparing daily court calendars
  • Processing incoming mail
  • Processing attorney requests
  • Performing extensive phone work
  • Working closely with the Division Trial Assistants, Paralegals, and Victim Witness Specialist
  • Performing other related duties as assigned

The Minimum Requirements are:

  • High School Diploma or its equivalent
  • Two (2) years clerical experience

 The Preferred Qualifications and Skills are:

  • Having knowledge of domestic violence community resources, HYDRA, CJIS, and E-Notify

 STARTING ANNUAL SALARY:  $31,200.00
