LICENSED ATTORNEYS:

We currently have openings for experienced felony trial division prosecutors at all levels in our Felony Trial Divisions.  Applicants must be admitted to practice in Florida, have at least two years of prosecutorial experience as an Assistant State Attorney or Assistant District Attorney, and have spent at least one year prosecuting a caseload of primarily felony cases.  Jury trial experience is required.  Applicants with experience handling and trying serious felony cases such as armed burglary, robbery, kidnapping / false imprisonment, lewd and lascivious offenses / sexual battery, aggravated battery, and drug trafficking cases, are preferred.  We welcome out-of-state prosecutors seeking to relocate to South Florida.  Training and continuing legal education will be provided to facilitate the transition to our criminal justice system.

Lateral hire position and salary will be commensurate with the experience of the applicant and comparable to the salary level of current prosecutors with similar qualifications.  Generous state benefits include health insurance (the employee cost is only about $8/month for single coverage and $30/month for family coverage), affordable (optional) vision and dental insurance, life insurance, paid time off and sick leave, and membership in either the Florida Pension Plan or the Florida Investment Retirement Plan.  Additionally, partnerships with certain local developers provide choice housing options nearby to Miami-Dade Assistant State Attorneys at a substantial discount (tied to starting salary).

To apply, please email your cover letter and resume to our Director of Recruitment and Retention, Thomas Bowman, ThomasBowman@MiamiSAO.com.
