The Florida Housing Finance Corporation publishes yearly Income limits and Rent limits for those who qualify. The State Attorney has appointed former Chief Assistant State Attorney Mary Cagle as the office’s lead in locating workforce housing opportunities for our team members, working with developers and the County on their Housing Project to assist employees who qualify. The housing coordinator connects employees to rental properties that include affordable housing. Below are examples of properties that lease units consistent with the Florida Housing chart and who have made units available to Hometown Heroes, including Miami SAO employees.
Mary can be contacted directly at (305) 967-5782 or by email at [email protected].

Miami-Dade County’s Public Housing and Community Development Department (PHCD) and Regulatory and Economic Resources Department (RER) or their successor departments oversee the administration of the Miami-Dade County Workforce Housing Development Program.
The Workforce Housing Development Program is a voluntary program that provides density bonuses, and other incentives for the development of affordable housing for working families and individuals.
The Florida Hometown Heroes Housing Program makes homeownership affordable for eligible community workforce.
This program provides down payment and closing cost assistance to first-time, income-qualified homebuyers so they can purchase a primary residence in the community in which they work and serve. The Florida Hometown Heroes Loan Program also offers a competitive first mortgage interest rate and additional special benefits to those who have served and continue to serve their country.
