Victim Witness Specialist II – Children’s Courthouse

Position Overview: 

This position requires extensive phone contact with victims and witnesses along with high-volume case, which consists of coordinating witness appearances for trial and depositions. The work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., but flexibility of the work schedule is needed.

This position offers a Limited Flexible Work Schedule and Teleworking Option.

The Job Responsibilities are:

• Preparing weekly availability lists for trial
• Assessing victims’ needs and making appropriate referrals to community resources for victims’ assistance
• Preparing witness locates
• Processing return mail
• Coordinating transportation of victims and witnesses for depositions, satellite depositions, and court hearings
• Assisting the Assistant State Attorneys when preparing for trial
• Conducting telephone contact with victims and witnesses
• Assisting the check in booth when necessary
• Performing other related duties as assigned 

The Minimum Requirements are:

• Bachelor’s Degree or,
• Associate Degree and one (1) year experience with work in the area of criminal justice, social science, counseling, public contact/customer service or,
• An equivalent combination of training and experience

The Preferred Qualifications and Skills are:

• Being fluent in English and Spanish or English and Creole
• Having customer service experience
• Experience using Hydra, CJIS, eSubpoena, and Subpoena Services

Starting Annual Salary:  $31,200.00
