Legal Assistant III Trial Coordinator – Misdemeanor Domestic Violence Unit

Position Overview

This Legal Assistant III in the Misdemeanor Domestic Violence Unit is responsible for providing support to the Assistant State Attorneys with confidential secretarial work on trial cases. The work schedule for this position is: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Job Responsibilities are:

  • Preparing misdemeanor domestic violence cases
  • Generating and processing trial subpoenas timely
  • Ordering reports and evidence such as case reports, telephone and medical records
  • Processing daily court calendars
  • Filing and distributing incoming and outgoing mail
  • Updating witnesses in HYDRA
  • Conducting extensive phone work
  • Setting appointments for deposition, pre-trial and pre-file conferences
  • Assisting the Pre-file Conference Legal Assistant, Victim Witness Specialist and Paralegal in the Unit as needed
  • Performing other related duties as assigned

The Minimum Requirements are:

  • High school diploma or its equivalent
  • Two (2) years of secretarial and/or general clerical experience

The Preferred Qualifications and Skills are:

  • Possessing working knowledge of community resources
  • Possessing working knowledge of HYDRA, CJIS and E-Notify programs
  • Possessing one (1) year of Legal Assistant II experience

Starting Annual Salary:  $35,828.04

*Note:  Please be advised the starting salary for this position is non-negotiable.
