Position Overview

The Legal Assistant II in the Felony Screening Unit (Resets) provides secretarial support to Assistant State Attorneys and Paralegals.  The work schedule for this position is 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Job Responsibilities are:

  • Preparing next day and future dates pre-file appointment calendars
  • Processing new cases
  • Processing and logging signed No-action
  • Arranging transportation requests for pre-file appointments
  • Scheduling and rescheduling pre-files for civilians, defense witnesses and law enforcement personnel
  • Scheduling and rescheduling jail pre-files
  • Distributing and organizing incoming/outgoing mail
  • Completing requests for Assistant State Attorneys and/or Paralegals
  • Assisting with translations both over the phone and with pre-file appointments if you are fluent in English and Spanish
  • Maintaining the Database
  • Conducting extensive phone work and having contact with the public and law enforcement personnel
  • Performing other related duties as assigned

The Minimum Requirements are:

  • High School Diploma or its equivalent
  • Two (2) years clerical experience
  • Successful completion of a skills test

The Preferred Qualifications and Skills are:

  • Being fluent in English and Spanish

Starting Annual Salary:  $23,221.08
