Position Overview

The Legal Secretary I in the Felony Divisions provides secretarial and caseload support for three (3) to four (4) Assistant State Attorneys.  The work schedule for this position is 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., or
8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (depending on assigned division and Judge court room hours).  During initial training period the work schedule is 8:30am – 5:00pm

The Job Responsibilities are:

  • Preparing daily court, supplemental and alias capias calendars
  • Locating Felony Cases for court daily
  • Processing court calendar returns and organizing files back properly
  • Preparing subpoenas, motions and orders
  • Ordering photos, body worn cam videos, police reports and other supporting documentation from additional agencies
  • Distributing and organizing incoming/outgoing mail
  • Completing requests for Assistant State Attorneys
  • Maintaining Database
  • Performing extensive phone work and having contact with the public and law enforcement personnel

The Minimum Requirements are:

  • High School Diploma or its equivalent
  • Two (2) years clerical experience
  • Successful completion of a skills test
  • Must be able to lift boxes weighing 25 pounds

The Preferred Qualifications and Skills are:

  • Being fluent in English and Spanish

Starting Annual Salary: $27,040.08
