Financial Crimes Investigator – Economic Crimes Division

Position Overview
The Financial Crimes Investigator in the Economic Crimes Unit is responsible for conducting criminal investigations of financial exploitation and other related financial crimes. The position involves analyzing financial data and gathering evidence to identify illegal financial activities. The work schedule for this position is between 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The Job Responsibilities are:
- Conducting investigations
- Gathering information necessary to investigate allegations or Data analysis
- Reviewing case files related to suspected fraud
- Evaluating evidence of investigations
- Identifying documentary evidence pertinent to the suspected fraud
- Preparing written reports of investigation findings
- Interviewing victims, witnesses, and subjects on and off site
- Obtaining written and/or verbal statements as required
- Providing testimony in trials, depositions, and hearings
- Working with local and state law enforcement agencies
- Training others in fraud detection and prevention techniques
- Performing other related duties as assigned
The Minimum Requirements are:
- A Bachelor’s degree
- Experience in Financial investigations and Auditing
- Related work experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required college training or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- Knowledge of Excel and other databases
- Valid Florida Driver’s License
The Preferred Qualifications and Skills are:
- Prior law enforcement experience
- At least one year of experience in accounting, auditing and/or fraud examination
- Experience in drafting of warrants
- Fluency in English/Spanish or English/Creole
- Working knowledge of crimes including fraud, theft, embezzlement, false entries in business records, schemes to defraud, and money laundering
- Having knowledge of C.F.I.S. (Comprehensive Financial Investigative Solution software)

Starting Annual Salary: $57,000.00 – Salary commensurate with experience
