Title: Crime Intelligence Analyst I – Human Trafficking

Position Overview The Crime Intelligence Analyst I in the Human Trafficking Unit deals with graphic details of horrific incidents and exposure to profane language. This position will work directly with the SAO Human Trafficking Investigators and Detectives to develop intelligence and leads on Human Trafficking and RICO (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organization Act) investigations, pre-arrest, as well as working closely with crime analysts from State and Federal Agencies and Task Forces that investigate human trafficking crimes throughout the nation. The schedule for this position is 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. but flexibility of the work schedule is required to include late evenings and weekends if involved in a time-sensitive project. This position is exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

The Job Responsibilities are:
• Conducting comprehensive analysis of digital evidence, including cell site orders, trap and trace, financial records, and social media website data
• Creating, maintaining, and updating a database of criminal activity based on various points of information
• Using computer programs and statistical data to identify and map criminal activity, preparing criminal reports to support policing activities and identify links between suspects, vehicles, MO (Modus Operandi), and determine their connection to particular crimes cases
• Locating times and areas where a particular crime or a range of criminal activity is occurring
• Preparing specific crime analysis reports when crime patterns, crime series, and crime trends are identified, and disseminate reports to appropriate users
• Creating crime/suspect correlation analyses to provide suspect leads to investigators and link analyses to known or suspected offenders or to open unresolved crime cases
• Managing and preparing HIDTA (High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas) database reports
• Reviewing, categorizing, and coding crime reports in the HIDTA (High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas) database, additional reports, and investigative reports to compare MO (Modus Operandi) and suspect information
• Participating in meetings with investigators, assistant state attorneys and administrators to identify the types of crime and intelligence products and services that would assist in the enhancement of crime suppression and criminal apprehension efforts
• Developing and implementing procedures to prevent loss of information
• Responding to after-hours calls as required
• Performing other related duties as assigned

The Minimum Requirements are:
• Bachelor’s Degree and two (2) years’ of experience in related work
• Associate Degree and five (5) years’ experience in related work
• Seven (7) years equivalent combination of education and related work experience

The Preferred Qualifications and Skills are:
• Having an excellent grasp of working knowledge pertaining to the Countering Crime and GIS & Data Analytics programs
• Being Florida-Certified Law Enforcement Analyst

Starting Annual Salary: $40,437.12
