Clerical Specialist II – County Court

Position Overview

The Clerical Specialist II in the Traffic/Crimes Division of County Court is responsible for the handling and processing of a high volume of incoming mail from the US Postal Service, Interoffice, Outlook Mailbox and V-doc Manager daily for Crimes, Traffic and DUI cases.  Additionally, this position will serve as a back-up driver when needed, to pick up and deliver mail and packages from court, SAO worksites, and other agencies using a State vehicle.  The schedule for this position is 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Job Responsibilities are:

  • Sorting and collating incoming mail and distributing to the appropriate personnel
  • Receiving and sorting outgoing mail, weighing and using the meter to apply the appropriate postage, and arranging it for pickup
  • Folding letters, circulars, or other documents and inserting in envelopes for distribution
  • Scanning mail into vcase and emailing secretaries of received mail
  • Retrieving incoming faxes twice daily and scanning them into vcase mail and notifying the secretary or attorney
  • Sorting incoming subpoenas and calendars delivered from ITD and distribute to appropriate division secretaries
  • Serving as the 1st backup to the Runner that involves delivering interoffice mail and subpoenas, within the sites of the State Attorney’s Office as well as outside agencies
  • Serving as backup to the Receptionist
  • Performing other related duties as assigned

The Minimum Requirements are:

  • High School Diploma or its equivalent
  • Successfully passing the Skills Test
  • One (1) year clerical experience
  • Must have a valid Florida Driver License, possess a very good driving record and meet the requirements of the State Attorney’s Office Driving Policy
