Miami – February 11, 2022 – Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle, United States Marshal for the Southern District of Florida Gadyaces Serralta and Acting Doral Police
Chief Raul M. Ubieta announce the arrest and charging of former television producer/writer Enrique Albis-Masot. The ongoing investigation into the activities of Albis-Masot provided sufficient evidence to file additional criminal charges of:

• 1 count of False Imprisonment
• 1 count of Sexual Battery by Force

“Every sexual assault is a degradation of the victim,” said State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle. “That is what so often makes these victims so fragile. But to think that a media producer
would use his position to gain sexual access to women seeking a television job seems like a sad throw-back to scandals that I hoped we were already past thanks to the effort of the “Me Too”
movement.”

Albis-Masot is already facing two counts of Sexual Battery as well as charges of False Imprisonment, Robbery by Sudden Snatching and Battery from incidents originally investigated by the Doral Police Department. It is alleged that Albis-Masot told women that he would audition them for a part in the very popular television show, “El Gordo y La Flaca” but they needed to see him personally. The previously charged sexual activity would take place during private “auditions” that were never authorized by the network nor anyone at the television studio.

In this instance, Albis-Masot allegedly told an actress that he had known in Cuba and who was looking for work, that he was developing a character for the TV show and offered her an opportunity to audition at his office for a script called “Bellita la Microfonsita”. After several meetings, he asked the victim to wear a tight-fitting wetsuit as a part of the audition. At some point during this “audition”, a struggle ensued between Albis-Masot and the Victim, who was wearing the wetsuit as instructed.

Albis-Masot allegedly pushed the Victim onto a sofa and pulled her hair while forcibly attempting to remove the wetsuit she was wearing as she was struggling to get away. Allegedly, Albis-Masot
managed to pull the wetsuit down to the Victim’s knees leaving her almost naked. The Sexual Battery, which is charged today, occurred after this struggle. Network management informed police investigators that Albis-Masot did not have authorization to conduct any casting for an unknown script called “Bellita la Microfonsita”. Police were also informed that Albis-Masot had been explicitly told one year earlier that he was prohibited from hiring talent for the television show.

“Today, several victims of unspeakable crimes are one step closer to justice. The long road to healing has begun for these brave women and our community is safer with the arrest of Mr. AlbisMasot. Today is a great day,” stated United States Marshal Gadyaces Serralta. “The Doral Police Department is committed to upholding the principles of law and fairness. We hope that this arrest brings a measure of relief and a sense of justice to the victims as they continue in their recovery,” said Acting Doral Police Chief Raul M. Ubieta.
